The 7th Borobudur Writers and Cultural Festival 2018

It is a gathering place for writers, creative workers, cultural activists and the wider community to build cross-border dialogue and intercultural understanding based on the development and extension of knowledge. BWCF delivers a message to the wider community of the importance of cultural heritage, especially the area of ​​Borobudur Temple.

Each edition of BWCF is attended by hundreds of writers, anthropologists, historians, students, and the general public with its main events that include seminars, film screenings, book launches, art performances, public lectures on the Archipelago’s history, workshop, and award - Sang Hyang Kamahayanikan to writers, historians, researchers, culturists, and figures who are instrumental in the development of culture and history of the Archipelago.

BWCF also offers village explorations, workshops with local craftsmen, and art performances held in villages around Borobudur area, namely Gejayan Village on Mount Merbabu, Tutup Ngisor Village on Mount Merapi, and Krandegan Village on Mount Sumbing.
