Themed “Spice Up the World”, this festival that has been held since 2015 unites many well-known cooks, restaurant entrepreneurs, food producers, food photographers, writers, scientists, and activists. Ubud Food Festival promotes Indonesian culinary flavours to be more global just like the ones of Southeast Asian cuisines, namely Vietnamese and Thai. The complexity of the ingredients, strong aroma and taste, as well as interesting cross-cultural history of Indonesian specialties will be the main attraction to local and foreign epicurists.
Ubud Food Festival offers a variety of programs and activities. In the "Kitchen Stage" program visitors can meet the stars of Ubud Food Festival closely, visit the kitchen of world-class restaurants in Ubud and witness the skills of leading chefs. The "Food for Thought" program contains a discussion themed "The Sustainable Future of the Indonesian Food Industry" with food technology experts, environmentalists, farmers, and others.
Apart from that there are various thematic discussions depending on personal interests. Teater Kuliner (Culinary Theatre) serves Balinese and other Indonesian specialties cooked directly on the spot by world class chefs. Taman Kuliner (Culinary Park) offers Indonesian and international flavours from various best restaurants, cafes, bars in Ubud. Festival Bars (Bars Festival) provides a variety of wines, sensational craft beers and other fresh drinks. The Coffee Lounge serves a rich variety of Indonesian coffee and the opportunity to learn to mix coffee with experts. Besides visitors can enjoy appetising food-themed films on the Film Screening corner, and all-night music while visiting the Go-Food Eatery and ABC booths.
