Kuaetnika: Concert of Sesaji Nagari

7      Save to calendar 2019-03-10 20:00:00 2019-03-10 24:00:00 Asia/Jakarta Kuaetnika: Concert of Sesaji Nagari Kuaetnika, an art community founded in 1996 by Djaduk Ferianto, Butet Kartaredjasa, and Purwanto, will launch a new album through a concert titled Sesaji Nagari (Nagari Offering). Through the album Sesaji Nagari, Kuaetnika expresses elements of Indonesian culture that have not been touched.

Kuaetnika will explore and develop several Indonesian regional songs to be more dynamic. Arranged by Djaduk Ferianto and Kuaetnika, Sesaji Nagari will harmonise the spirit of ‘Indonesianness’ from the west to the east end, and reattach what is called Indonesia and recall being an Indonesian who respects diversity.

Kuaetnika was formed as an effort to dialogue in music. An attempt to reinterpret traditional music with the spirit of innovation so that it can be enjoyed in other nuances and arouse the tastes of today’s generation. The Kuaetnika members always dig into traditional music and combine them with electrical instruments.

On stage, Kuaetnika are able to make surprises in harmonising music. Traditional musical instruments can be very thick in harmony with electric sounds, synthesizers and drums. Meanwhile, children's toys and kitchen utensils can appear in the middle of the noise of the instruments being played. There is always something unique in Kuaetnika's appearance that makes it rich in colour and fascinates the audience.

The concert of Sesaji Nagari will feature 10 new songs: Sesaji Nagari, Ulan Andung-Andung, Batanghari, Kadal Nongak, Lalan Belek, Doni Dole, Anak Khatulistiwa, Made Cenik, Sigule Pong and Air Kehidupan.
